colombian faja

Why are fajas important to a BBL?

After a BBL, tummy tuck, or liposuction, most surgeons will advise their patients to wear a faja or compression garment of some sort.

Though fajas are recommended for dozens of reasons, the big picture is that they are necessary during a BBL recovery because they improve results and reduce post-surgical discomfort. By wearing a faja as direct during recovery, patients take the first step in protecting and preserving their results.

Overall Health

A BBL can be a messy procedure. Most patients experience leakage, drainage, and swelling often reduced by wearing a faja. After surgery, compression garments tightly hug the body in a way that reduces bleeding. By minimizing the amount of bleeding, you can also reduce bruising and general discomfort.

Further, fajas also provide essential compression that helps the body drain. Fluid retention can cause swelling and other issues that make a recovery even more lengthy and uncomfortable. The body can drain naturally through its incisions by getting regular massages and wearing a faja. Fajas and massages are explicitly recommended to ease drainage and reduce post-surgical scar tissue formation.

Comfort

Simply put, though it might not feel comfortable at first, the faja offers tight, controlled support, which provides most patients with a sense of relief and pain reduction after surgery. Patients feel better quicker by keeping the body free from excess bleeding, swelling and fluid buildup. A faja also functions as a protective barrier, safeguarding a sensitive body from the outside and allowing recovering patients to move around more freely with less pain.

Sculpting

Finally, fajas contribute so much to overall results. While providing support and comfort through its firm fit, it also works to accelerate adhesion of the skin to abdominal muscles, ensure skin tightening, smooth bulges, reduce the appearance of cellulite and sculpt the body through compression and cinching.

Wear

After a BBL, I recommend utilizing a faja for a full six weeks. During the first three weeks, a patient should wear a faja 24 hours a day, removing it only to bathe, and for the last six weeks, a faja should be worn 12 hours a day.

Ensuring that the body gets the proper long-term molding, shaping, and sculpting that can only be accomplished by wearing a faja is a critical part of the experience. Despite the reason a person decides to undergo a BBL, to make the time and money worth it, wearing a faja is vital.
